Reading: skimming, scanning, identifying detailed meaning and opinion, locating specific information from short texts, identifying text types, locating information in the texts, understanding different types of questions: matching, gap-fill, multiple choice.
Writing: types of letters in the exam, letter organisation, identifying relevant information from the stimulus material, overview of the marking criteria.
Listening: listening to identify gist, attitude and opinion, listening for specific information and purpose, understanding ‘native’ speakers, understanding different question types.
Speaking: different role-play scenarios, understanding and incorporating the patient’s perspective, establishing rapport, adopting appropriate tone, register, and language, awareness of assessment criteria.

Examination practise under test conditions.
Duration varies. Monday to Thursday: 9.30 am to 4.00 pm, including two 15-minute breaks, morning and afternoon and one hour for lunch, with five hours of study.
Examination preparation for the Occupational English Test (OET). We offer a six-week course in preparation for the OET examination. All four sub-test subjects are covered: Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking, including skills study and examination practise under test conditions.
The English language entry level is B2 – C1. Students of Language level B1 are also welcome if you are prepared to do the work required to reach the appropriate test-ready grade.
The course costs £100.00 a day per student if there is more than one student. If there is one student in a lesson, the class is a half-day, either in the morning or afternoon as the student requires, and costs £100.00. A student who prefers private, one-to-one lessons, where the course is catered to their specific needs, the cost is £60 per hour. The course is ongoing so you can join the six-week course, which takes place one day a week, or a class convenient to you on a different day.
